Three Dominica State College Students Awarded Prestigious Scholarships by Rotary Club
Three young men attending the Dominica State College have been awarded scholarships by the @rotaryclubofdominica. They are Dervon St Rose receiving the John Archibald Scholarship, a Faculty of Arts & Sciences Student pursuing an Associate’s degree in Building and Civil Engineering, Ian Pierre also receiving receiving the John Archibald Scholarship, and a Faculty of Arts & Science student pursuing an Associate’s degree in Accounting and Nigel George receiving the Victor Josse Scholarship, a Faculty of Applied Arts & Technology pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Science.
The students were chosen after successfully applying with a 500 word essay stating how the scholarships would be beneficial to them throughout their tenure at DSC.
To maintain the scholarships, the students must pass all courses and maintain a 3.0 GPA. They must also display good behavior and character among other things. Ultimately, renewal will be based on Rotary’s discretion.
Meantime, the Reginald Gomez Burke Scholarship was also launched at the handover ceremony where wife of the late Reggie Burke was there to witness the introduction.
Students majoring in the field of Auto Mechanics, Faculty of Applied Arts & Technology (FAAT) are informed that applications are immediately being accepted.
