DSC Students Showcase Innovation in “Business for a Day” Event
Students from the Small Business Marketing course at Dominica State College took their learning beyond the classroom last week with the exciting “Business for a Day” initiative. Held from March 31st to April 2nd, the event saw students launching and managing their own businesses for a day, applying real-world marketing and entrepreneurial strategies.
Over the three-day period, 15 student-led businesses were unveiled, with five groups presenting each day. The initiative provided students with hands-on experience in branding, sales, customer engagement, and business management—key skills for success in the world of entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the experience, one student shared that it was both challenging and rewarding, as they had to think like real business owners, handling everything from marketing to customer service.
Lecturers and faculty members praised the students for their creativity and business acumen, emphasizing that practical learning opportunities like these are essential in preparing students for the dynamic world of business.
The “Business for a Day” event is part of DSC’s commitment to hands-on education, equipping students with the skills and confidence to become future business leaders.
