Summer Camp

Facts Sheet

A typical day at camp

• Concierge Welcome (8:30-9a)
• Daily guest speakers/ lectures/discussions on theme for that week (Agriculture, Culture, Tourism and Science-Geography and Computer Literacy)
• Different arts and crafts activities
• Break/socializing time
• Indoor and outdoor activities
• Fridays are field trip days.
• A sports day will be held on the last Thursday of the summer camp

Staff Training

• Training is conducted (via the DSC Faculty of Education) for all staff and students responsible for the summer camp.
• First aid training provided before the start of the summer camp to ensure that key contact staff and all student assistants are prepared incase of any emergency

Medicals

• Parents, we ask that you provide us with a list of any allergies or medical illnesses your child/ward may have so we are aware and take any necessary precautions.

Transportation

• There will be designated bus drivers who will be available to transport children to and from the college if needed for a small fee of $1.00 each way.
• There will be buses on the stockfarm bus stop across from Malcolm Stephens and 2 opposite Ma Boyd’s Restaurant
• Parents will be charged an extra $5.00 fee upon pick up for every half hour after pick up time (5pm)
• Field Trips are held every Friday for the duration of the summer school. Each field trip is $15 round-trip. Parents will be given Permission Slips weekly, and encouraged to accompany or have someone accompany their child/ward.

Final Day

• On this day we will end at 1pm. There will be a closing ceremony where all the children’s projects will be displayed which they will then take home after the ceremony.
• Parents are invited to attend this ceremony/exhibition
